The aqua park at Atlantic Club Montalivet is superb. As well as the main outdoor pool, there’s a paddling pool, kiddies aqua play area and a fantastic selection of water slides too. There is even a separate covered pool. If you’d rather watch other people do the swimming, sliding and paddling, there are also loads of sun loungers.

Feeling peckish? Your on-parc delicatessen, andy shack, mini market, creperie, pizzeria, restaurant, and the snack bar/bar welcome you, whatever mood you’re in, and whatever refuelling stop you find most tempting. Anyone who loves good food and fine wine will be in their element here, but the history, architecture, shops and museums of this charming city are well worth a visit in their own right. As is the architecture of Soulac - a must see, just 30 minutes drive away.
