Towns and Villages in Germany

Augsburg

Augsburg

One of the prettiest cities in all Germany, with a wealth of fine Renaissance, Baroque and Rococo architecture. The cathedral is particularly splendid, as are the museums and exhibitions that explore the city’s gold and silversmithing past.

Celle, Germany

Celle

The lovely old town offers a blend of Renaissance and Baroque architecture, with fabulous half-timbered houses including the Hoppener Haus. The often amusing talking lampposts of Celle are also a popular attraction here. We hope they speak doggy language too!

Hannover

Hannover

While the old town here is now quite small, there’s still plenty to see, including the wonderful 15th Century Old Town Hall, a network of winding, medieval streets and welcoming, traditional taverns.

Munich, Oktoberfest

Munich

The Bavarian capital may be best-known in Britain for its bier kellers and the Oktoberfest, but you should also raise a glass to its stunning Baroque and Gothic architecture, including Marienplatz Square and the Frauenkirche.
