If you plan on visiting just one place off-parc, it should of course be the amazing city of Rome. The Archeological Museum in the city of Monteretondo is just 15km from the parc.

Days Out

Forest adventure

Parco di Bomarzo

Parco di Bomarzo is a large, rather strange garden in which mysterious forms in the shape of ogres, dragons, bears and mermaids have been sculpted from the rocks. Children can climb all over the statues and explore the strange house that leans and tilts.

Water park

Aquapiper Water Park

Aquapiper Water Park has the largest wave pool in Europe, as well as many long, steep slides and entertainment. But its not all scary slides, there are lots of fun pools and play areas for the little ones too.

Vatican

Rome

Italy’s capital is one of the most historical and culturally rich cities in the world. A walking tour of the Vaticans of the city is highly recommended, as is a scavenger hunt to engage the children in the city’s history.

Bioparc zoo

Bioparc

If you are visiting Rome then the children may be interested in visiting Bioparc zoo which is home to a number of animals, including lots of primates, big cats and reptiles. Rome also has a good aquarium.

Pompeii

Pompeii

The campsite organises excursions to ‘The Eternal City’ as well as to Pompeii and Naples.

Rome colosseum

Colosseum

For the teenagers the Colosseum is a must see as it was the setting of the epic ‘Gladiator’ movie. There are also two national football teams that you can try and watch, or you can spend a day wandering round the huge range of shops and bars.
