- El Bahira is a lovely leafy park. Mostly Italian holiday-makers, with a few English in the euro-camp section.
My son (12) easily made some Italian friends and was away playing in the pool/ping-pong/soccer a lot of the time.
There is an easily-accessible little rocky beach area with free sun-loungers / umbrellas. snorkelling is nice there.
The supermarket has most everything u might need including rock shoes and snorkel/mask! Prices as expected. Nothing way ott.
There is a pizzeria and restaurant/bar. All pretty good.
The night time entertainment is classic Italian holidaymaker entertainment. Good to experience anyway!! All quiet by midnight.
Everything closes for siesta. And you should siesta too. Phew!
Cabins are basic. Totally grand for us. AC was adequate as long as u get back every 2 hours to switch it on!
Climbing is possible to arrange, even in the heat of summer! There are west facing cliffs that are in shade until midday. U can rent equipment at YMCA climbing house in San Vito Lo Capo if u are an experienced lead climber. Or you can arrange a climbing trip with them even with little experience.
There is no direct bus to San Vito. The campsite apparently runs a shuttle but this was broken during our stay. Taxi is €15 but hit and miss if you find someone! The wonderful John was our "courier" (eurocamp contact). He was super super helpful and sound and even ran us in and back from San Vito a couple of times when we were stuck!
