Events in the Region
Every year, on the third weekend after Easter, the town of Fréjus, celebrates the feast day of Saint Francis de Paul. This historic festival, ‘La Bravade’, includes colourful parades with locals dressed in traditional costumes accompanied by the sounds of flutes and drums. There are musical performances, as well as services in the cathedral and of course a big feast. 2020 dates to be confirmed.
With grueling routes covering some of France's most beautifully scenic regions, the Tour de France is an iconic cycle race, attracting huge crowds along the route. The Grand Départ of 2020 takes place on the 27th June in the city of Nice, with the 170km route on day 1 finishing with a sprint along the Promendade des Anglais. Day 2 again starts and ends in Nice with a trip into the mountains along the way. The races finishes in Paris in July.
Fréjus has a whole host of events and festivals throughout the year. One of the main events not to be missed is the ‘Fête du Raisin’ in early August – there are traditional dances on the steps of the cathedral, wine tastings and market stalls. 2020 dates to be confirmed.
