Sightseeing

The popular port town of Fréjus is a short drive from the parc and has a selection of bars, restaurants and shops, a great beach and historical ruins as well as a water park and zoo. St Raphael, too, is a popular town thanks to its modern attractions including a casino and a number of bars, but also its historical points of interest along with its archaeological museum and a number of art galleries. Glamorous Cannes is about 45km away, perfect for a day of star-spotting.

Fréjus is the home of Aqualand – the largest water park on the Côte d’Azur. It will suit all ages: there are mini parks and splash pools for younger children, jacuzzis for those wanting to relax, and scary chutes for those wanting an adrenaline rush.

Cannes

Wear your biggest sunglasses and pull your hat down low for some celeb spotting, or even get mistaken for a celebrity! The hot spot for the famous, Cannes is just over 45 km away. This city is famous for its luxury (and also the film festival) but it has also retained its history – there are lots of places of interest and many museums and art galleries.

Roquebrune sur Argens

Stroll through the archway at the base of the 16th century watch tower and you will enter a magical land... well you will enter the quintessentially French town of Roquebrune sur Argens. It is a charming little village perched on a rocky peak, with narrow streets, old buildings and a 16th century church.

Bravade à Fréjus

Every year, on the third weekend after Easter, the town of Fréjus, celebrates the feast day of Saint Francis de Paul. This historic festival, ‘La Bravade’, includes colourful parades with locals dressed in traditional costumes accompanied by the sounds of flutes and drums. There are musical performances, as well as services in the cathedral and of course a big feast.

If it's sailing that floats your boat then head to Antibes in late May and early June! The town plays host to the grand opening of the Mediterranean Classic Yachts Regatta season. This event always attracts an avid following and there are cocktails, live music, barbeques and much more.

Off Parc Activities

If you fancy a boat trip then the parc offers one for free! Hop on at the campsite and the boat will take you to the golden beaches of St. Aygulf along the tranquil River Argens. If you would rather be in control of your own boat, rowing boats, dinghies, and windsurfs can all be hired within 5 km of the campsite.

Close by, 18 km away, is the coastal mountain range of Le Massif de l’esterel where you will get spectacular views of the region, especially from Mon Vinaigre, 618 metres up. The picturesque park is 320 square kilometres of rugged terrain, deep ravines and oak forests. The nature reserve within the park offers excellent hiking and mountain biking trails. Be sure to take your swimming costumes because there are beautiful mountain lakes to cool off in too.
