If you are a lover of all things equine then Chantilly is the place to go (50 Km north of Paris). The Hippodrome de Chantilly hosts two of France’s classic horse races - the Prix du Jockey Club and the Prix de Diane Longines every year in June. But if you don’t fancy a flutter then you can always visit the local horse museum, ‘La Musée Vivant du Cheval’, which offers demonstrations three times per day.
