The Dordogne is packed with beautiful villages and châteaux, and the scenery is pretty wonderful too! Nearby Sarlat has some of the best preserved medieval buildings in France and it's markets have been famous since the Middle Ages. Lascaux and Les Eyzies

The pre-historic cave paintings of Lascaux and Les Eyzies are world famous and a visit is a must!  Both sites are just half an hour away - visit the National Museum of Pre-history and the Lascaux Centre for Cave Art.

Jacquou Parc

Splash out at this lively park near Le Bugue. Youngsters will delight in an aqua zone with pools and waterslides, a fairground and an animal parc with parrots, donkeys and a host of other cute, inhabitants that don’t bite.

Le Bournat

You'll find time has stood still at Le Bournat - at 1900 to be precise! This reconstructed village has animals, craft demonstrations and fairground rides including a vintage roller coaster.

Château de Castelnaud

This medieval fortress offers magnificent views over the Dordogne valley, as well as a huge collection of weapons and armour. Take a guided tour and watch the trebuchet demonstrations!

Monkeys Forest

Get close to nature at this great tree top adventure course near Sarlat.  It's great fun for all the family, with rope bridges, Tarzan jumps and a 800m zip wire. There are different courses for all ages - including one for 'baby monkeys' 2 to 3 years.
