Sightseeing

The Costa Brava is packed with great seaside resorts and fabulous sandy beaches and Blanes is known as the Gateway to this sunny region. The lovely S'Abannell beach is the longest beach in Blanes offering just over 2km of clean golden sand - why not take the tourist train along the seafront in the summer and explore? Step away from the beach and you can discover ancient ruins, medieval villages and some seriously funky museums! Alternatively, hop on a bus in Blanes and head to Waterworld for a splashtastic day out.

If you prefer to go sightseeing via public transport, you'll find that the bus station is behind the campsite - Sagales run buses to Barcelona and the airport, while Pujol run buses to Lloret de Mar and Girona aiport, Barcelonabus have services to Girona city.

Jardi Botanic Marimurta

This stunning botanic garden, with it's spectacular views of the Costa Brava, is well worth a visit. Set over 4 hectares it is divided into three zones - subtropical, temperate and Mediterranean. Open all year and only 3km from Blanes, there are regular buses from the town centre to the gardens.

Barcelona

The exciting city of Barcelona, with its Gaudi architecture, Picasso museum and inimitable cathedral is well worth a visit. The Camp Nou stadium and FCB museum is a big draw for all football fans, while the harbour and beaches are perfect for a break between all that sightseeing.

A city with more than 1000 years of history, this vibrant seaside resort boasts five beaches, wonderful shopping, sports and leisure facilities, sparkling nightlife, history and culture. The Medes Islands are also spectacular and well worth discovering while you're here.

Diada de Sant Jordi (Saint George's Day)

All over Catalonia streets and squares are filled with stalls of books and flowers and people in fine spirits. Friends and loved ones exchange gifts (traditionally books) to celebrate the Patron Saint of Catalonia. Books and flower stalls are set up along the streets of Barcelona, with many well know artists signing copies of their books.

El Focs de Blanes

El Focs de Blanes

This international fireworks festival held in Blanes is a hugely popular event. Held over 5 days at the end of July, the event attracts crowds of around 250,000 people on the busiest days. The shows start at 22:30 with most people watching from the beach. Prime watching spots start filling up about an hour before the start. CB020 Camping Tucan is the nearest parc to Blanes (4km). 2018 dates to be confirmed.

Off Parc Activities

There are plenty of watersports available at the two main beaches in Blanes with scuba diving, sailing, jet skis, sea kayaking, parasailing and waterskiing all on offer. If you like to explore underwater there are many diving zones of good quality, and schools that offer excellent tuition and equipment hire for those eager to learn. On dry land Blanes offers a 900m karting circuit for exciting racing action as well as paintballing, and 4 x 4 adventures. Golf lovers will be spoilt for choice two - there are 8 golf courses all within 60km of Blanes!
