Concarneau is just 17km away, a lovely walled town which is also famous for being one of France's largest fishing ports. Quimper can be reached by a short boat trip up the Odet river, and is home to a 13th century cathedral. Or just a stroll along the coast is the bustling town of Bénodet, perfect for eating out at its excellent seafood restaurants, as well as offering plenty of cafés, crêperies and sandy beaches.

Swimming pool


Just 15 minutes away are the slides and chutes of Aquarive. This parc has great facilities for those with physical disabilities. The longest chute in Brittany is found at ‘Les Balneides’, which also has an indoor heated swimming pool. 

Pont Aven


Pont-Aven, under 35 km away, is the place to be inspired! Many famous artists have spent time here and to see it through their eyes take the ‘Painter route’ tour.


Benodet beach


Bénodet is just a short stroll along the coast and welcomes you to visit its promenade cafés, crêperies and restaurants, as well as sandy beaches. Taste the local delicious jam and chutney and see how it’s made at L’Atelier des saveurs, ride the seaside train, discover the biscuit factory or take a look around the seaside museum.

To get a taste of home then visit the English inspired gardens – ‘Jardins de Rospico’. Four hectares are covered in 2000 plant varieties, some of which are for sale, including many palms and hydrangeas.

Quimper cathedral


A short boat trip along the Odet River and you will sail into Quimper. Here you can find a 13th century cathedral, the museum ‘Beaux-Arts’, shops, markets and more. The best places to eat here are in the centre around the covered market or towards the railway station.

Celebrate the fertile apple orchards with music and dancing in Fouesnant. There are fireworks and traditional Breton costumes galore, with a costume contest on Saturday afternoon, a Grand Parade on Sunday morning and a torchlight procession on Sunday evening.

Pont-Aven is particularly beautiful during this festival when the yellow flower of Brittany, gorse, is celebrated along with the Breton culture on the first Sunday in August. This is a particularly traditional festival; there are age-old dances, parades, music and feasting.

Off Parc Activities

From the parc there is a lovely coastal walk to Bénodet and if you are enjoying a relaxed, peaceful atmosphere then take some time by the water’s edge to do a spot of fishing. But if you are looking for more action then facilities for windsurfing, horse riding and scuba diving are all close to the parc, as is a golf driving range.
