Private beach beyond the pretty pine forest

Portofelice Camping Village on the Adriatic coast is packed with fun. But don’t just take our word for it…

Try this beachside parc and you’ll enjoy family-friendly facilities, including a great playground, complete with trampolines and mini go-karts, before stopping for dinner at the restaurant on site. There’s a great sense of nature here too; wander amongst the pine trees and forest to discover the long sandy beach, which has its own bar serving snacks and drinks. Portofelice’s pool complex promises plenty of fun as well, including 3 pools and 2 water slides. If you want to explore off-parc, catch the daily bus in peak season to Punta Sabbioni, where you can hop on a boat to Venice and the surrounding islands.

Dublin
This campsite has rules and if that's ok with you then this is a nice campsite. I would say it's best for couples with young children up to ten years of age. It's a relatively large site and takes a few days to find your bearings. Things we didn't like were as follows: The pool closes between 1 and 3 in the afternoon. You have to book and pay for a bed at the pool. The problem with this is that beds are offered online and are bookable on a weekly basis so the day we arrived all the beds were already fully booked. What's more frustrating is that the beds are lying there empty as people don't use them all day or may go to the beach instead so while we had to lie on hard decking over half the beds were empty and the staff are vigilant about not letting anyone use booked beds. It's very frustrating considering the distance and expense families have gone to to come on holidays and can't even get a comfortable bed to lie on at the pool. aaarrggghh. The only people benefiting are the campsite as a huge amount of revenue is generated from renting these beds. The beach is lovely - the water is a beautiful temp and very safe. The restaurant on site is excellent...The best pizzas we had in Italy (I know!). We've stayed in better campsites in France and will therefore not return to this or maybe any site in Italy.

Dublin, Ireland
thoroughly enjoyed the holiday. near to airport/easy transfer, i couldn't fault any aspect of the parc, the reception is so efficient and well run, everywhere is clean, supermarket well stocked, excellent kids club and variety of activities, lovely restaurant, friendly staff everywhere, fab pool complex.

Our eurocamp mobile was impeccably clean and our courier bridget was so friendly and helpful. I travelled with 2 families and she moved things around for us to be beside each other for which we are so grateful, it made the holiday complete to be on the same row as our friends.

Dublin
Camp was more suited to families with young children, we had teenagers #bored!!
Football pitches were locked so the lads couldn't even get a game going with other teens.
Security are very hassle in the evening and are consistently annoying if you are just sitting on decking after 11pm.

Pro's
1. A very well kept, clean campsite.
2. 5 minute walk to the beach.
3. Central to some lovely towns and a stones throw from Venice.
4. Excellent supermarket and mini shop.
5. Nice restaurant and fairly priced.
6. Pressecco 🍹, €2 a glass.
7. A swimming pool for every age and a great Jacuzzi / dip pool for over 13 year olds.
8. 34° to 36°, everyday.
9. Beach bar with snacks and drinks.
10. Water aerobics and dancing, great entertainment.
11. 5minute walk to nearest town, through the camp, markets and restaurants, pirate themed restaurant is a must 👍

Con's
1. Mosquitoes!!!!!!!!! Holy mother of god, eaten alive would be an understatement. The minute the sun starts to go down be prepared to be eaten alive.
2. Mandatory siesta 1 to 3, everyday. Pools close, shops close and everybody goes back to their mobiles, shop stays closed until 4. Once open at 3, again the pool complex is closed at 7pm sharp.
3. Rigid timings, no choice you have to leave.
4. Sun beds at pool and beach are €5, a day per bed. So for us it would have been over €100, so towel on the floor it is then.
5. No cars in or out during break, so if you want to enter or leave between 1 and 3, plan your day.
6. Pools were crowded, great to cool down but not big enough for the volume of people on site.
7. Night time shows are great for kids up to about 6, plus you get eaten alive while watching them.
7. A very structured holiday, always felt like I had to plan in advance for shops, pool and meals etc.
8. Tanoy barking orders about noise levels etc.

On the whole, me and my family had a great holiday. Unfortunately the mosquitoes nearly spoilt it. For anyone who says they dont get bitten, trust me, you will. The campsite was immaculate and very well kept, but you kind of got the feeling that you were following a structured day, come 1 o clock like clockwork everybody left the pool and lines of people started to make there way back to the mobiles etc. If your used of say Spain and relaxing and doing as you please, when you please this holiday is not for you. Venice was a must do and after speaking to a waiter, we managed to get there for €17.50 on the train, free parking at the railway station, so €35 return for the 5 of us. AQUALANDIA, a massive waterpark was another highlight of the holiday, €158 to get two adults and three kids in, again we drove there in the hire car ( definitely a must in my books ). If the timings and mosquitoes were taken out of the holiday, id be easily giving it a 9, but they were there and id say a high 6, low 7. SPAIN, I will see you next year 👍🍹🍻🍔🍴😉

Mobile home was very good and we cannot fault eurocamp however there were some issues with the campsite. The pool complex was disappointing and better suited to young children (our 4 yr old loved it, 8 and 10 yr olds quickly bored by slides). Pool was crazily busy, impossible to swim. Beach was lovely and clean. However frustrating to have to pay for seats at pool and beach and for bouncy castle etc on the campsite. Really adds to cost. There were lots of rules on the campsite, which got annoying. If you have an active family there is not alot to do in the area, aside from Venice, water parks and lagoon; very long drive to mountains. Although we would not recommend Portofelice, the staff were all lovely and if they improved the pool area this would make a big difference.

Excellent holiday, all staff were very friendly except for the barman at the pool bar, he was very rude to me.
Accommodation was lovely.
I prefered the first site to this one due to the pool facilities .
