Eurocamp was founded way back in 1973 when Alan Goulding took the first wave of holidaymakers looking for freedom and laidback adventures to Brittany in France.
Throughout the 1980s, even more liberation-seekers wanted to experience holidays in France and interest in the type of holidays we offer grew. Bookings with Eurocamp soared; we added a wider variety of locations to our list and introduced mobile homes to our range of accommodation for the very first time.
These innovative moves helped to expand the UK market to France and secure our place as the market leader of camping holidays.
During this time we experienced some changes on the business side of things, too. In 1981 we were bought by London-based retail group Combined English Stores plc, and began absorbing smaller competitors into the business until we were ready to float on the stock market in 1991.
Since then, we’ve continued to grow as a business and we’re now part of Homair Vacances group, a specialist in outdoor holidays for more than twenty years, on approximately 300 parcs across Europe. Although we travel all across Europe, we call Cork in Ireland our home.
In the early 1990s, Eurocamp and Keycamp became sister companies. Both brands had the same values at their core; offering great-value family holidays to amazing locations throughout Europe, ranging from rustic campsites to stylish resorts. In 2013, we decided to unite with Keycamp and launch as a single company to offer a more liberated holiday experience than ever before. This includes a wider choice of locations and brand new accommodation.
